THE HORNETS will be hoping Bruce Dyer has rested sufficiently to be fit enough to return to the striking role. With Micah Hyde out with a hamstring injury and Neal Ardley suspended, the Hornets have a few problems ahead of tomorrow's (Saturday, September 13) game with Millwall.

Hyde hurt his hamstring in training while Dyer has eased up on training after keeping news of a pre-season ankle injury to himself.

"He has done no real long-term damage. The fortnight without a game came at the right time," said Ray Lewington.

"He feels pretty positive but we have to keep monitoring it all the time. It's a bit of wear and tear, a bit of inflammation. It's a professional footballer's injury. It is nothing serious but it does cause pain and does restrict. Once it settles down the problem will fade away.

"So he is in contention but it is too early to say he's a definite. He is a lot more comfortable. Hyde is struggling to make it so that gives the opportunity to team up Jamie Hand with Gavin Mahon. He will give me effort, cover the ground and not let us down in terms of attitude. We need people who roll their sleeves up and have a go."
