WATFORD have turned down a £450,000 bid from Nottingham Forest for striker Danny Webber. The club's chairman, Graham Simpson, dismissed the offer as "a bit cheeky".
While it was thought the Hornets were open to offers for most players because of their dire financial situation, the sale of Paul Robinson has meant they are not desperate for funds.
"We did not accept that offer. The board is in agreement. We did not buy Danny in the summer to sell him three or four months down the line for basically the kind of money we put together in a package. It has never been our intention to give Danny away," said the Watford chairman.
