Don Cowie has retained his place in the Scotland squad for next week’s friendly with Wales.

Cowie recieved his first call-up against Japan last month after injuries decimated George Burley’s squad.

But former Inverness midfielder Cowie, West Bromwich Albion’s Graham Dorrans and Hearts defender Lee Wallace have all kept their place in the 23-man squad for the November 14 friendly at Cardiff City Stadium.

Heidar Helguson has been called up for Iceland’s double header against Iran and Luxembourg next week.

Scott Loach and Tom Cleverley are also in the England Under-21 squad for their crucial Euro 2011 qualifier against Portugal at Wembley Stadium on November 14.

Northern Ireland Under-21s have called up Lee Hodson and Craig Cathcart for their Euro qualifiers against Germany and Czech Republic, with Michael Bryan on standby.

Midfielder Kurtney Brooks started in Wales Under-19s’ 3-0 defeat to Portugal and is on the bench for tonight's game with Spain. Wales also face Macedonia on Sunday.
