Watford manager Sean Dyche has praised the impact of Fulham loanee Alex Kacaniklic after the winger helped the Hornets come from two behind to win 3-2 at the weekend.

Kacaniklic started the game against Burnley on the bench but he came on at half time after a woeful first-half performance from the Hornets.

The 20-year-old helped the Hornets maintain possession, provided width and scored the equaliser.

“I thought he was excellent second half and scored a composed goal,” Dyche replied when asked about Kacaniklic's display.

“I have mentioned it several times, with young players it is important that we look at them as well as the team and manage them wisely.

“Sean Murray had a natural break with his injury, we felt that would do him good and with Alex we felt he just needed that break to have a look at it and see what it is all about.

“But we did feel that he could affect it from the bench and it was always something that we thought about – possibly not as early as we did change it.

“He gave us something for sure and maybe that will be a part of his belief moving forward.”
