Watford have confirmed the loan signing of Udinese striker Alex Geijo.

The Watford Observer reported last week that the striker would be joining on a season-long after the Swiss-born Spaniard tweeted about the move.

Geijo started his career in his native Switzerland at Neuchâtel Xamax, before making the switch to Spain where he has spent the majority of his career.

First signing for Malaga, he failed to make a real impact and was left languishing largely in the "B" side, but did muster 15 appearances for Los Boquerones.

In 2005, he made the switch to Spanish first division side Xerez, where he scored 20 goals in 70 appearances.

A switch to La Liga outfit Levante followed, and after a slow start he impressed, scoring 15 goals in 53 appearances during his two-year stay.

Racing Santander was his next destination, but it was a short lived stint as, after only a handful of appearances, he made the switch to Italy to join former Levante boss Gianni De Biasi at Udinese.

Geijo was quickly loaned to Spanish side Granada, due to the Pozzo partnership, and notched an impressive 25 goals in 33 appearances to fire them into La Liga.

The 29-year-old rejoined Granada last season but injuries hampered his return.
