Herts Sunday Senior Cup Round One

Cassiobury Rangers were the sole winners with a 1-0 victory over Watford Sunday League side FC Crescent.

In a match affected by heavy wind, Rangers managed to score the winner midway through the second half when Jake Lovick released Brima Johnson to dribble and slot past the keeper.

Cassiobury had to survive a hotly disputed late penalty claim to take the victory.

Woodside pushed another Watford Sunday League side, The Hammer, all the way before losing 5-3.

The scores were level at the break, with Dom David equalising for Woodside to cancel out a penalty.

The game burst into life after the break though, as David netted his second with a fine solo effort but Hammer scored two quick goals to take the lead before Drew Snailham equalised.

The game looked to heading towards extra-time but Hammer struck twice late on to go through.

Kings Langley went out following a 7-3 defeat by Stevenage Sunday League side Billet.

Langley went down 2-0 after 20 minutes, only for Sam Tattman to score a hat-trick in eight minutes to put them ahead.

However, Billet equalised on the stroke of half-time and took command of the tie after the break.

Colne Valley also faced a trip to Stevenage and went down 3-0 to Marquis of Lorne.

Reed Rangers have started to find their feet in the top flight as they secured a second successive win, this time 3-2 over Tudor Arms.

George Hobson scored twice on his debut for Rangers to open up a two-goal lead after a first half in which Tudor's Jack Robertson also missed a penalty.

Arms fought back to level through Robertson and Jack Plunkett, but were caught out by a long ball late on which allowed Daniel Tearle to race through and score the winner.

Headstone Athletic defeated Old Danes Athletic 5-3 after coming from behind twice.

Anthony Ball gave the champions a foothold in the contest just before the break and Daryl Richardson equalised from the penalty spot early in the second half.

Old Danes took the lead again and held it until the last ten minutes when Matt Irons levelled the scores.

Chris Gough then put Headstone ahead for the first time before Shiva Kurup completed the comeback in the last minute.

Inter were the other victors at the expense of WD Athletic.

Pat Turner scored from the penalty spot to give WD an early lead before Joel Fisher and Arek Adeoye struck to put Inter in front.

Nathan Khider then made it 3-1 before Andrew Mutuma reduced the arrears in the final minute.

FC Aps' good start to the season continues after a 4-1 win over ten-man Amici.

Despite being a player short, it was Amici who led 1-0 at the break thanks to a Dave Morrish goal.

Aps took charge in the second half though, with Chris Cook's brace supported by a Martin Clarke penalty and a late Jamie Beaumont goal.

Pavillion Rangers beat Aquis by the odd goal in five.

Murray Duff put Aquis ahead, Ryan Walsh levelled and then Joe Perrin and James Ashton-Woods put Pavillion 3-1 in front.

Ashton-Woods was sent off after the break and Aquis pulled a goal back from the penalty spot through Adrian Arrighi.

Ken Simmons Memorial Cup Group A

Roundbush gained a first win of the season with a 3-2 victory over Cassiobury Revolution.

Cassiobury dominated the first half and led 2-0 thanks to goals from Anthony Highet and Ahmet Top.

They held the lead until 20 minutes from time when Jon Sugden pulled a goal back and suddenly the game changed as Joe Girvan equalised minutes later.

Both sides went for the winner but it was Roundbush who grabbed it through Ben Lelyveld seven minutes from the end.

Ken Simmons Memorial Cup Group B

Last season's runners-up Brookside defeated Colne Valley Reserves 3-1.

Barrie Horn hit a brace with the other goal coming from James Blackwell. Reza Hotee replied for Valley.

Ken Simmons Memorial Cup Group C

Although they lost 10-2 to Ebury Olympians, Bushey Olympians will be pleased at scoring for the first time this season.

They actually went 1-0 ahead after ten minutes through Rob Dealey but Jason Quilley and Sean Tovee made it 2-1 at the break.

Ebury ran riot after the restart, scoring eight times, as Quilley finished the game with five goals, Gabriel de Marco Harvey hit a hat trick and Tovee got his second of the game in the final minute. Ollie Thorpe struck the second Bushey goal.
