TEN BABIES were born at Kingston Hospital this New Year, six boys and four girls including, for the first time in many years, twins.

First to arrive at 2.37am was Freddie Timothy Wolfe who weighed 8lb, a son for Paul and Lucy Wolfe of Wimbledon.

The second born was Yolanda Glen, a daughter for Roxanne Glen of Richmond born at 2.48am and weighing 7lb 5oz. Another girl, Megan was born at 3.43am the first child of Nicola and Julian Klass of Twickenham weighing 8lbs 3oz.

Lisa Griffiths of West Molesey gave birth to her third son David at 7.03am weighing 6lbs 5oz. Then Clare Salter and Rob Lawley had twins, brothers for their 19-month-old boy Max. First came Thomas Harry at 9.17am weighing 7lbs 3 oz followed a minute later by William Edward, weighing an ounce less.

Clare said: "They are non identical but look exactly the same .

"We were at a New Year's Eve party when they decided to come.

"They have made our family complete. Max will be thrilled. A family of men!"

A son weighing 6lb 6 oz was born to Surbiton couple Nick and Arti Joshi at 10.52am and an 8lb 12 oz daughter to Felicity Snyman of Raynes Park at 12.52pm.

Then along came another boy at 2.24pm followed by a daughter for a Kingston couple at 3.37pm and finally a son, Oscar, the first born child to Elizabeth Parker and Nigel Botswain of Richmond weighing 7lbs and 3 oz.
