A 17-year-old from Watford will appear in crown court over two aggravated vehicle taking charges and possession of ‘combat style’ knives.

The teenager, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, is charged with possessing two knives in public, aggravated vehicle taking which involved dangerous driving and an accident, as well as breaking bail conditions.

The aggravated vehicle taking and knife possession charges are alleged to have happened in Hackney on July 10.

The case has been sent for trial at Wood Green Crown Court on August 9, after the teenager appeared in North London Magistrates’ Court, July 12.

He admitted to breaking his bail conditions in Watford on July 18 when appearing in St Albans Magistrates’ Court on the same day and was re-admitted to bail.

He is not accused of driving the cars he is charged with taking, but is alleged to have allowed himself to be carried in them before they were recovered. 

One of the vehicles, an Audi, was allegedly driven dangerously down four roads.
