A couple are asking for witnesses after their car was written off whilt it was parked at the side of the road.
Ben East found his partner Christina Peters’ green Fiat 500 smashed up in Prince Street, near the junction with Sutton Road, on Monday afternoon at around 2pm.
Their insurance company told Mr East and his partner that the car will be a write-off.
But because no note was left, they will still have to pay the excess unless they can prove the damage was not their fault.

They had left the Fiat - the couple's second car - on August 15.
It had signs of impact along the passenger side and the back window and back right windows were broken.
Mr East, 52, said: “The rear window was smashed through and there were multiple gashes on the car, but no one had left a note.
“One of the gashes had gone right through the metal.”
The damage was reported to police on Monday afternoon, but as the couple do not use the car every day it may have been hit much earlier.
Mr East added: “We were parked up near the corner, if they were coming around it, they must have been going at a heck of a rate.
“It’s quite a narrow street, but how fast and how careless do you have to be to do that, it's not the sort of thing you wouldn’t notice.”
“We need a witness, there’s plenty of houses on that street.”
