Visiting Tim Hortons ahead of the opening showed Watford is in store for a genuinely different fast-food offering.

The Canadian fast-food chain, which specialises in sweet and savoury treats, will open at the former Pizza Hut site by The Dome roundabout on November 28.

Ahead of the full opening, the fast-food restaurant hosted a private event today (November 24) which the Watford Observer managed to attend.

The store being less common to the UK, its wide selection of sweet treats, and the focus on menu items like coffees and breakfasts sets it apart and has led to much more anticipation than you would expect from a fast-food location opening.

The excitement is clearly building as multiple would-be customers came through the doors hoping to order and had to be turned away.

Customers can use two drive-thru lanes before going around the back to pick up their order, or they can go inside to order before eating in or taking away.
