“I’m looking forward to seeing the new facilities and the benefits these will bring.”

The project has been funded by £433,750 from the district council through community infrastructure levy contributions and a £75,000 grant from HS2’s community and environment fund.

The scheme will also include conservation and biodiversity improvements to develop the trees planted as part of the Queen's Green Canopy project.

Construction began in December with work taking place in phases up until the spring.
