A Wetherspoon pub in Watford town centre has served its last pint after being pictured boarded up.

Colombia Press in The Parade closed on Monday, February 6 and had its last day of trading the previous day.

Its name has now been stripped off the site and metal sheets have been placed over the window front.

It is among 39 Wetherspoon pubs that were put up for sale nationwide.

Wetherspoon spokesman Eddie Gershon said: “The company, on occasion, will close one of its pubs. This is a commercial decision.”

The company confirmed that it has not been sold and is still on the market.

It is one of many businesses in Watford recently put up for sale.

The Cha Café closed on August 31 because the owners Brian and Mandy Evans retired.

It has since been announced that Café in the Park will be taking over the business.
