One of Watford’s top-rated pubs is set to permanently close after decades serving customers.
Owner Greene King has confirmed reports that The Southern Cross, in Langley Road, will soon shut.
It was rumoured that the final day will be sometime during February, but the brewery has only stated that it will be this year.

“We are aware that this will be disappointing news to the local community and our loyal customers, and would like to thank those who have enjoyed visiting us over the years.
“The team at The Southern Cross has been notified, and we are currently working with team members to find alternative roles at our other pubs in the local area where possible.”
