Cassiobury Park’s paddling pools will open for 2026 tomorrow, in time for the day’s sunny weather.
From Friday (May 1), the kids’ activity space will be firing out water again with newly extended sessions in response to public feedback.
The paddling pools are free, but donations can be made at www.watford.gov.uk/donate-splash-pools.

Under a booking system introduced last year, families will be able to reserve one of the 135 bookable spaces per session via the Everyone Active App or grab one of the 135 first come, first served walk-in spots.
The session times for 2026 will be 10am to 11.30am, 12pm to 1.30pm, 2pm to 3.30pm, 4pm to 5.15pm, and 5.45pm to 7pm.
Families will only be able to book one session per day, but kids can stay and join another session via walk-in if there is space later on.

Watford Borough Council had closed the pools, which attracted more than 50,000 visits last season, over winter for replacement of the recirculation water tanks to improve the hygiene and efficiency of the facility.

This should also reduce the need for maintenance during the summer, the council said, which had caused issues in recent years.
The Met Office is predicting 24C sunny weather tomorrow, before it turns colder and wetter into the weekend and next week.
