A prominent pub has temporarily closed as its manager leaves after 10 years.
The Red Lion, in High Street, Bushey, is shut from today until next Monday (September 14) after it confirmed that it has changed hands.
It thanked the outgoing operator and some other staff members who will also be leaving for “all their hard work and for the memories they’ve helped to create over the years”.
The boozer added: “But don’t worry, there will still be some familiar faces waiting to welcome you back, alongside a few new ones too.
“Thank you to all our customers for your continued support. We hope the next chapter of The Red Lion keeps the friendly, community feel that makes our pub so special.
“We’ll see you again soon.”
Owner Stonegate Group had shared a listing for an “experienced” operator to come in and take over The Red Lion earlier this year.
The UK’s largest pub company said: “They are seeking an experienced independent single/multiple operator who has the vision and experience to develop this already great pub with all its features to maximise its potential and appeal to the local community.

It described The Red Lion as "a pub at the very heart of the community", offering classic pub food and a "strong drinks selection" that includes lagers, ciders, and real ales.
