Photos show the horrifying moment a car went up in flames following a major crash on a motorway.
Pictures taken at the side of the M1 this morning (Wednesday) show a car engulfed in fire following the crash at Junction 5 (Watford).
Hertfordshire Constabulary says seven cars were reported to have been involved, with two cars having caught fire.

One witness, who did not want to be named, said there had been “so much fire” at the scene.
“It was difficult to tell what had happened,” he said.
“I was just hoping everyone had got out ok.”

Fortunately, police have said only minor injuries were reported following the crash.

The motorway was closed in both directions while emergency services worked at the scene.
The northbound carriageway was reopened around 8.40am.
Google maps ir reporting that the southbound carriageway is now also open.
