Women can take part in free self-defence classes in Abbots Langley.

The free personal safety sessions are a mixture of practical and interactive learning and include confidence-building techniques.

Organised by Abbots Langley Safer Neighbourhood Team, Abbots Langley Parish Council and the Three Rivers District Council, five sessions will be available for women aged 18 and over.

Sergeant Jon Brown from the Abbots Langley Safer Neighbourhood Team said: “The first of these sessions took place in April and we got really positive feedback, with participants saying they felt much more confident and that they learnt a lot.”

The sessions will take place at a venue in Abbots Langley on Tuesday evenings between 7:30pm and 9pm on the following dates.

• May 17

• May 24

• May 31

• June 7

• June 21

Anyone registering will be sent an email confirming their place and the venue.

Spaces for the session will be offered on a first-come first-served basis. To attend, contact SNTAbbotsLangley@herts.police.uk, and include, your name, telephone number and specify the dates you would be available to attend.
