Work to improve visibility at a crossing where an elderly woman was fatally hit by a van has been branded an "unsightly shambles".
Betty Shaer, 89, died after the accident in Hempstead Road, Watford, between Courtlands Drive and Stanbury Avenue in May.
Her death reignited calls for trees and bushes to be cut back by the crossing – which Hertfordshire County Council has now completed.

But Stanbury Avenue resident Ken Phillips, who was leading the campaign, has lashed out at the state it has now been left in.
He said: “Wanton destruction caused by the over exuberant contractors has left the whole area in a complete unsightly shambles.”
A county council spokesperson said: “As a result of the initial investigations, our contractors have recently cut back vegetation at the crossing point to improve visibility for people using the crossing.
“We do appreciate that the site is currently a bit unsightly, but we’re sure residents will appreciate that the safety of people using the crossing is the main concern here.”
