Police have confirmed why an air ambulance helicopter landed in Watford Fields yesterday evening.

Hertfordshire Constabulary explained that the emergency air ambulance was responding to a man suffering a medical episode in the Water Lane area.

A police spokesperson said officers assisted the ambulance service and the man was still alive when he was taken to hospital.

They were unable to confirm his current status this morning.

Meanwhile, Essex & Herts Air Ambulance Trust was today rated ‘outstanding’ by health watchdog the Care Quality Commission.

The commission said staff “went the extra mile” to deliver the best support and save lives.

The charity was unable to provide any more details of the incident.
