They added: “Children across the nursery show high levels of confidence. Staff support this by offering praise for children's efforts and achievements.

“Children engage well with visitors to the setting. Toddlers ask them to pose for their drawings and encourage them to join in their modelling dough activity.

“Preschool children chat enthusiastically about their favourite football teams and are keen to find out those of visitors.”

Safeguarding arrangements were found to be effective and children with special needs are well supported.

Amber, the nursery manager, said: “I am very pleased with the result of our most recent Ofsted inspection.

“It reflects the amazing early years work the team does here at Watford Day Nursery in providing support for children at varying developmental stages.

“We will continue to work hard, drawing on the success of our bespoke Bright Beginnings Curriculum, which is proven to promote high levels of emotional wellbeing through a holistic approach to learning.”

Ofsted also praised staff, who support children's understanding of appropriate behaviour and monitor their learning well.

To improve further, inspectors tasked the nursery with ensuring all staff consistently support children’s learning and development, and enhancing its coaching and mentoring methods for staff.

Watford Day Nursery has 57 children aged one to four on roll and 22 members of staff.

It is part of the Bright Horizons nursery network, with has many nurseries throughout the UK.

Bright Horizons highlighted how the report noted the attention given to children’s wellbeing and the relaxed and professionally managed environment created by the nursery team.

Ofsted also praised communication, both within the nursery and the information given to parents.

“Parents are highly complementary about the care staff provide,” inspectors added.

“They comment on the high-quality communication they receive about children’s learning and development.”
