Part of Watford's town hall is set to be demolished as part of a major revamp.
The proposal to knock down an extension to the building and replace it with temporary landscaping was approved today (February 16) after it was submitted on January 17.
Under the conditions of approval, work must start within three years and the landscaping must be done as outlined in the plan.
The town hall works, including the demolition, are due to start this spring and be finished in the spring or summer next year.

“As a council we now need far less office space,” he added.
“Demolishing these outdated buildings will save the council money and free up space for better use within our overall ambitions for the Town Hall Quarter area, including opening up the town hall to the community.”
Built in 1987, the extension is next to the car park and just behind The Horns pub.
