A “gushing leak from a hole" caused “chaos” in a major road, then it turned out to be “potential sewer water”.
Locals reported seeing water from emergency utility repair works in Scots Hill/Park Road, Croxley Green.
According to a motorist, the Cadent works had been causing long queues from the entrance to Rickmansworth Sports Club to as far as the Royal Masonic School on some days since starting on February 24, but yesterday morning (March 3) the water added to the issues.

An Affinity Water technician was sent out to investigate but despite confirming the issue they had to hand it over to Thames Water, because they found it was “not clean water”.

A Thames spokesperson said: “We’ve been made aware of a potential sewer leak on Scots Hill in Croxley Green, and we are sorry for any disruption this is causing to local residents.
“Our teams are currently investigating and will take the appropriate action to resolve the problem as quickly and safely as possible.”
