A man has been jailed after admitting to violently assaulting a stranger in Borehamwood, causing GBH level head injuries.
Andrew Eyton, of Monkswood Gardens in Borehamwood was sentenced to 20 months imprisonment after he pleaded guilty to GBH without intent at St Albans Crown Court.
Police officers on patrol in Shenley Road, Borehamwood, had discovered a man unconscious in the road with a significant head injury in the evening of October 14, last year.

He was taken to hospital and has since made a full recovery.
CCTV revealed he had been the victim of an "unprovoked attack resulting in GBH level injuries”.
Eyton, 47, was later identified, arrested, and charged before being remanded into custody.
PC Leo Stockil said: “I hope this result reassures the public and local community.
“There was a significant police presence in the area at the time and I understand the impact incidents like this have on the community.
"Thankfully, we were able to identify the offender quickly and take appropriate action.”
