Police have made a fourth arrest after a man was allegedly hit by a vehicle and then stabbed in South Oxhey last month.

Emergency services flooded Little Oxhey Lane at around 3.20pm on May 4 after a vehicle crashed into a home causing structural damage and forcing it to be evacuated.

A police manhunt involving a helicopter was launched and three people were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. Hertfordshire Constabulary have since confirmed a fourth (unnamed) man was later arrested on suspicion of affray but was released on police bail whilst enquiries continue.

Thomas McDonagh, 36, of Hemel Hempstead, was charged with affray and possession of an offensive weapon and was released on bail.

Simon McDonagh, 33, of Naas Lane, Gloucester, has been charged with affray and remains in custody.

The third man, unnamed as he has not been charged, remains on bail at this time.

On May 4, a Herts Police spokesperson said: “A man was reportedly hit by a vehicle and then stabbed. He was taken to hospital for treatment and his injuries are serious, but not life-threatening.”

Those involved are believed to know each other, they added.

Residents reacted with shock on social media as pictures emerged appearing to show a car that had come to rest after hitting a home.
