A group of teens were filmed tormenting a bus passenger with “very disturbing” behaviour in Bushey.

In a video recorded by another passenger, on Sunday (July 9), youths on the 142 knocked a man’s hat off, swore at him threateningly and slammed the side of the window.

According to a witness, the man had been on the bus first and the teens appeared to have known him, as they looked "surprised" and started swearing at him when they got on.

They then went to the upper deck when he didn’t respond. One of them walked back down after a while to “challenge him to come upstairs”, the other passenger explained.

The video then begins when they go to get off at around 4.30pm in Melbourne Road, and shows them laughing before one taunted “silly old man”, and appeared to flick a hat off the man’s head on his way out.

This prompted the victim to try and grab one of the boys behind him, or potentially a bag he was holding, but he was unable to.

This triggered another swearing match with one boy acting particularly threateningly and yelling at the man to come off the bus, while he demanded the teens get back on.

The teen then slammed his hand on the window as the group continued their foul-mouthed tirade, insulting and goading the man to get off the bus.

Finally, the victim could be heard asking someone to call the police, but this was apparently ignored, and Herts Police appear not to have received any reports of the incident. It was, however, described as an “assault on an elderly man” by the person behind the camera.

They added that it was “a very disturbing incident” to witness.

No passengers intervened, with the boys solely targeting the man that they appeared to recognise.
