New drone pictures show an updated aerial view of a £36 million redevelopment — with much more greenery on show.

Stephen Packman shared a set of photos yesterday (October 8) demonstrating what has been done as part of the Meriden Regeneration Project, since similar images were previously shared in February.

The work is set to create 131 homes for affordable or social rent, a 50-bed extra care facility for elderly people, and two homes for shared ownership.

It will also bring new green spaces, community facilities, as well as a shopping parade, and already much less of the land between The Gossamers and York Way now looks like a building site.

Watford Community Housing appointed Mulalley and Co to undertake the multimillion-pound redevelopment after it was approved in 2015.

Progress so far this year includes the construction of six homes in The Turnstones, a temporary carpark opening in the road, and more new properties in Kingfisher Way. All of the York Way bungalows are also complete.

The shopping parade in The Gossamers still appears some way off completion, with scaffolding all around the site.
