An estate agent was set to open today before finding its windows had been smashed by “thoughtless” vandals.

Rolstons’ office in Watford High Street was left damaged as it had multiple windows smashed this weekend.

It is not yet known exactly when it happened, but staff said it must have been between 4pm on Saturday (December 9) and when the business opened this morning (December 11).

The company had only moved into its new offices, where The Money Shop used to be, around 18 months ago. Herts Police have confirmed that officers are investigating the building’s windows being smashed and enquiries are ongoing.

Owner Paul Gillespie said: “The recent act of vandalism to our busy property showroom at Rolstons estate agents in Watford, which resulted in all our windows being smashed, deeply saddens me.

“Despite the damage caused by this thoughtless and cowardly act of vandalism, the Rolstons team of estate and letting agents are as determined and dedicated as ever to continue business as usual on behalf of its sellers and landlord clients.”

Rolstons shared that it has been in contact with Watford Borough Council to try to track down CCTV, and reported the damage to police.

It hopes to have a better picture of what happened in the next few days.

Mr Gillespie added: “Such incidents are disheartening, especially during the festive season, but we remain committed to serving our local community. We would also like to thank our neighbours, friends and clients for their kind words and support.

“Therefore, I urge anyone who may have seen or heard anything on Sunday night to report it to the police.”

Rolstons said it hopes that any members of the public who saw anything suspicious will come forward with information.
