Watford’s new £25 million business park is now complete.

The 4.3-acre gateway to Watford Business Park, in Faraday Close, near the West Watford Morrisons, has been transformed from a surface-level car park into 13 industrial and warehouse units.

It has been geared towards attracting businesses in high-value sectors, particularly film and TV, life sciences, and manufacturing to the business park, which spans 74 acres in total.

Watford mayor Peter Taylor said: “I am delighted to see this exciting project being delivered successfully.

“These fantastic new facilities will support more jobs in our area and economic growth for our town.

The site now has better drainage, with lots of new trees and features to support cycling and walking.”

The Watford Borough Council-led project, known as Inspire, was part-funded by a £5 million investment from the Hertfordshire Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP).

According to the Hertfordshire LEP, a business-led partnership for growth, available business premises in the county have depleted “significantly” in recent years, making projects like the business park “essential”.

The council added that it is set to achieve a BREEAM ‘very good’ sustainability rating and each unit is equipped with solar panels, electric vehicle charging points and cycle storage.

It was designed by architects Studio Egret West and delivered by Stace LLP and the construction company Faircloth.
