The ambulance service was called as police closed a road after a single-vehicle crash.

Herts Police were alerted to reports of a collision in Elstree Road, near the junction with High Road in Bushey Heath, at 8.59am this morning (January 10).

At around 10.30am, police said that the ambulance service were also at the scene, although they may have arrived earlier. The East of England Ambulance service has been contacted for further information.

In a social media post, a police spokesperson warned of the closure and advised motorists to avoid the area and seek alternative routes.

Confirmation of the closure came within minutes of another road being shut in Watford. Officers came across a broken-down vehicle on the A41, near The Dome roundabout, at around 9am.

Recovery was arranged and then completed by around 10am.
