Hertfordshire police have arrested a man after a "large-scale" cannabis factory was discovered in South Oxhey.

Officers attended the address on Thursday morning (February 1) after receiving intelligence from the community that identified "tell tale signs" of a cannabis grow.

After Hertfordshire Constabulary forced entry to the building, the large cannabis factory was discovered, along with a male.

A spokesperson for Hertfordshire Constabulary said: "Scorpion officers along with the Operational Support Group and Three Rivers Local Crime Unit, attended an address in South Oxhey which was believed to be used as a cannabis factory after recent intelligence received from the local community identified tell tale signs.

"In total approximately 170 cannabis plants were located and have subsequently been seized and will be destroyed."
