There is commuter chaos as a signal failure is causing "severe delays" for Watford train journeys.

The Metropolitan Line had no service between Moor Park and Watford (Met) until around 9.30am today (February 8).

Although the full closure was lifted there are still “severe delays” between Aldgate and Watford, Chesham, and Amersham according to TfL.

Update: delays on the Met Line following the signal failure have been downgraded to "minor disruption".

Commuters between Watford and Croxley Green reported being unable to get to work amid the full cancellation earlier this morning.

The disruption follows a signal failure at Moor Park and no expected time for an end to disruption has been given.

Tickets are being accepted on London buses, London Overground, and Chiltern Railways services.

There is also some limited disruption out of Watford Junction, with three of the next five trains delayed, but only by around five minutes.

There is “good service” on the rest of the Metropolitan Line as well as the London Overground, TfL added.
