Roadworks have apparently already caused “chaos” in a Watford road, but it could get much worse over the next week.

Motorists have reported that the temporary multi-way signals in Horseshoe Lane, for Leep Electricity works, have triggered disruption since they began on Wednesday (February 14).

However, it is not the end of the project to install a new service connection at the stretch of road near All Saints Church and the Harvester.

The traffic control before today was listed as “delays possible” on One Network, but from this morning (February 16) this has changed to “delays likely” and the footway will also be closed. This will last until Monday (February 19).

The change in set-up was planned and an alternative pedestrian route will be provided.

Then, from Monday until next Sunday (February 25), a 273-metre section of the road between Woodside Leisure Centre and the Harvester will be fully closed for further Leep Electricity works.

A diversion route will be set-up which will take motorists 6.81-kilometres down the A405, Aerodrome Way, Langley Lane, and back onto Horseshoe Lane to get around the closure.
