The latest pub of the week is bringing expanded events to create more opportunities for getting its community together.
Arriving at The Horse and Chains, what immediately jumps out is what a fantastic location it has in Bushey’s High Street.
Set back from the road, it boasts plenty of room including outdoor space and a traditional pub feel.

The 45-year-old, who has run The Horse and Chains for two years and worked in hospitality in the UK and Europe all his life, said that the “nice local pub” atmosphere was what first attracted him to the role.
“I’ve been here two years now it’s a really good pub and a very big community pub with lots of regulars,” he said.

“We’re just a very friendly local pub and that’s not just me, that’s our customers and our great team - who are very welcoming - as well.
"All our events are very well attended, its great fun and anyone is welcome.”
Just this week, an open mic night was added to the line-up of monthly special occasions after comedy events have proved “very popular” since December.
The food menu is popular and regularly changes to offer seasonal dishes. (Image: Newsquest) Daytime music events are also starting this summer, which will see four to five acts perform each time and make the most of the garden.
A theme that has emerged out of this regular feature is that tough times for pubs nationally have made it even more necessary for operators to take the initiative to get customers in.

Gordon, who lives on-site, said: “I believe that the hospitality sector itself is struggling at the moment, with overheads which are generally high.
"I don’t see them going down at all in the future and actually increasing after April.
“But we’re quite positive for the summer. We’ve got a beautiful garden so we’ve got to be positive.”
He added: “There is quite a big demand for live music.”

The food offering changes seasonally, with new set menus for lunches and events like mothers’ day .
Sunday lunches have always been very popular part of the pub, so the team advises booking these in advance.
