Walls are set to be knocked through to turn a North Watford home into a six-person HMO.

A decision notice published yesterday (June 9) means 66 Acme Road, off Leavesden Road, can be converted into a house in multiple occupation (HMO).

This allows up to six unrelated people to live in it as a shared property, unlike the previous 'family home' use class designation.

Planning officers concluded that the application, first proposed in April, constituted a permitted development.

It therefore only required a lawful development certificate rather than full planning permission and it was found to meet the specified requirements for this.

The two-storey building currently has three bedrooms upstairs and a living room, lounge, and kitchen dining room downstairs.

Floorplans that have been signed off on would turn the living room into a bedroom and create another bedroom out of part of the lounge and part of the kitchen.

Ensuite bathrooms were also proposed for each bedroom and a refuse area must be created at the front.
