A man has been arrested on suspicion of GBH after an alleged meat cleaver attack in Bushey.

The victim in the Reddings Avenue, was assaulted at around 3.15am (October 28) and taken to hospital with multiple “stab wounds”, police said.

Helicopters and numerous police vehicles were seen in the area during the early hours, but attempts to trace the suspect were still underway as of earlier this afternoon.

Herts Police have now (shortly after 3pm) confirmed that the suspect, a man in his 40s, has been arrested on suspicion of GBH.

It has also been confirmed that the weapon used is believed to have been “a meat cleaver or similar”.

Although it was initially believed the incident took place inside the victim’s house, police have now clarified it was outside in the street.

The victim is recovering from his injuries and is believed to have been released from hospital.
