A man has been charged with GBH after an alleged “meat cleaver attack”.
Daniel Aldrich, of Farrington Avenue, Bushey, appeared at Hatfield Magistrates’ Court yesterday (October 29) charged with GBH assault, possession of a knife blade/sharp pointed article in a public place, and three counts of possession of an offensive weapon in a private place.
The 42-year-old had been arrested on Tuesday afternoon (October 28), after a manhunt was launched over an attack in Reddings Avenue, Bushey, reported at around 3.15am that day.

A man in his 30s suffered “stab wounds” which are believed to be from a “meat cleaver" or similar weapon, according to Herts Police.
It happened outside in the street, near Little Reddings Primary School, and left the victim hospitalised. He is now recovering from his injuries.
The Watford Observer understands that he was released from hospital later on during the same day, although this has not been officially confirmed.

The suspect is believed to have been known to the victim, according to police.
Hertsmere MP Oliver Dowden said: "I am deeply concerned by the reports of this incident in Bushey and my thoughts are with those affected.
"This shocking event has understandably caused great anxiety across our community.
"I am in close contact with Hertfordshire Police and will continue to work with them to ensure every possible step is taken to keep residents safe."

During the night of the attack, Bushey residents reported seeing a “disturbing” large police presence after being woken by the sound of helicopters.
A house opposite the school was reportedly cordoned off, but this was removed during the afternoon and the crime scene did not cause disruption in the area.
Witnesses, or anyone with information, can contact Herts Police online, or by calling 101, quoting crime reference 41/102366/25.
Update: Aldrich has been remanded into custody ahead of his next court appearance, at St Albans Crown Court on November 26.
