A vehicle crashed into a High Street restaurant this afternoon and sparked gas leak fears after a pipe was damaged.
Nearby businesses heard a “bang” as it hit Zaza in Bushey shortly before 2.18pm (December 22).
Herts Police, the East of England Ambulance Service and one fire engine arrived at the scene and found the vehicle had struck the pipe.

Firefighters made the scene safe until Cadent Gas arrived and took over at around 3.35pm.
One adult man was able to get out of the vehicle and was assessed by the ambulance service but did not require transportation to hospital.

The vehicle was recovered and the road reopened at around 4.20pm.
Cadent Gas is carrying out works outside the restaurant as of 5pm, with a permit for “emergency gas repair works” involving “some carriageway incursion” displayed online.
This is provisionally listed to last until January 2 but could potentially finish far sooner.
