Lidl is planning to open the store off the A41 near Hunton Bridge this summer after securing planning permission in March 2024.

Lidl first submitted plans in 2022, but access concerns delayed its progress. Multiple rounds of amendments and two deferrals were needed before Three Rivers District Council approved the scheme.
The brand is separately planning to open a new Watford High Street store in the former Wilko unit sometime this year.
