Years on from her own cancer battle, a Watford teen will give back to the charity which made her wish come true.
Molly Hall, 18, was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia in 2019 and underwent chemotherapy which left her with leg pain limiting her ability to walk, due to its impact on her nerves.
At age 12, she stayed in Great Ormond Street Hospital and then Watford General’s children’s ward but now Molly is well along the process of training for the London Marathon on April 26.
The Aldenham School pupil, who was taken to the British Grand Prix by Make-A-Wish, will be raising money to help the charity grant more wishes for children like her.
“I’m finished with treatment now so I can kind of look back on it, she said. "It wasn’t easy at all, because I was so ill, but I can look back and feel quite grateful for all the people that helped me."
Molly added: “My wish meant a great deal to me and my family, and it was one of the best weekends of my life.
“We are forever grateful to everyone who has donated to Make-A-Wish to make it possible and to everyone who works for the charity.
“I want to give back to Make-A-Wish so that other critically ill children can also have their wishes granted.”
Training is going well and the importance of raising money and awareness for the charity is helping motivate Molly to get out and run every day during the cold, wet, and miserable weather.

In 2020, the Watford Observer reported on Molly taking on a fundraising walk with the aid of a wheelchair outside her home for Starfish Ward at Watford General Hospital.
She told the Observer of her pride in how far she has come, adding that the marathon will show “no matter how dark of a time you are in” those suffering can still go on to do something great.
So far, Molly has raised £1,380 towards a £3,000 target from 40 donors.
