Watford’s new Aldi looks to be taking shape as the opening date approaches.
New windows have gone in replacing the frontage of the former Iceland and Laser Planet units, below the former Pryzm nightclub, in Albert Road South.
Aldi hoarding has also been extended to cover the end unit formerly operated as Vinyl.

Work had previously been seen at the rear of the unit to upgrade the car park and plans also included knocking through the walls of the two units to combine them into one larger space.

The store had initially been expected to open in summer 2025, but this was later pushed back to this summer.

Job adverts are currently live as Aldi seeks staff to work at the shop and an apparent insider has suggested the opening date will be June 4, although this has not been confirmed.
Speaking earlier in the year, an Aldi spokesperson said: “Once open, the store will create up to 40 jobs and help local people shop and save closer to home.”
