The new business replacing a recently closed Watford boozer will be a “pub and restaurant”.
The Southern Cross's future was left in doubt when it shut down in February, as owner Greene King confirmed it was a permanent closure and the building was being sold rather than passed to new management.
“Coming soon” signs were then spotted outside last week stating that a business called Everest would be taking over, however details of how the site would be used were not shared.
The Google listing for the location has since been updated saying it will be a “pub and restaurant”, with a logo design bearing the name 'Everest Southern Cross'.
“Everest Southern Cross is a welcoming pub in Watford offering Indian food in a relaxed social setting," it adds. “Combining a traditional pub atmosphere with a strong Indian kitchen, it is designed for drinks, casual dining, and time with friends.

It will be opening "soon", but no date has been shared.
A business website is currently live but states only that it is currently undergoing maintenance.
