A sinkhole opening up in a busy road has forced its emergency closure.
Baldwins Lane, Croxley Green, is blocked off for 202 metres between the Harvester and Spar locations.
This is to allow for carriageway investigations over a sinkhole near the Watford Road roundabout.
According to passers-by, a clear “hole in the road” can be seen.

The 320 and 322 buses normally stop within the road closure and have been sent on diversion around it.
A permit is in place for the works to last until 4pm on Monday, June 1, although it could be lifted earlier or extended due to the unplanned nature of the works.
The closure goes up to the entrance of Croxley Danes School. While the school is currently on half term, pupils will return from June 1 and so Hertfordshire County Council will be hoping to life the closure as soon as possible to minimise disruption.
