A sinkhole has blocked a road to traffic at the busy junction of two key Watford routes.
Hertfordshire County Council has closed Oxhey Road between Eastbury Road and Green Lane, Oxhey, for sinkhole investigation and repair this afternoon (July 7).
The permit for closing the road is in place until Tuesday, July 21.

The pavement is not blocked.
Permits are often put in place for standardised lengths and it is likely that the expected duration of the works will be amended once the investigations are complete and the level of repairs required becomes clearer.
Hertfordshire County Council has been contacted for more information on the closure and how long it may last. Updates to follow tomorrow.
