Bushey and Bushey Heath are among six Hertfordshire areas which can expect 20mph zone consultations soon.
Hertfordshire County Council’s 20mph programme continues to grow with more residential streets, town centres, and areas around schools having consultations on the restriction.
Consultations are currently underway in Essendon, Markyate, Thundridge, Wadesmill and High Cross, and Cockernhoe and Mangrove Green.
The programme webpage also confirms the locations where council officers are planning to consult on proposals in the next six months.
Currently, these are Bushey, Bushey Heath, Harpenden, Hatfield, Hertford, and Bishop’s Stortford.
As the consultations have not yet begun, no lists of the roads to be included have been published for these areas.

The council says it typically introduces limits across whole areas, rather than single streets, to keep things consistent. It claims this makes things less confusing, reduces speeding between zones, and minimises clutter from speed limit signs.
Some main roads will not be included within a 20mph area because they carry more traffic, have different layouts or are important for keeping vehicles moving around the wider area.
Following consultation, some roads may be removed from zones or zones may not proceed at all due to consultation results or a local councillor decision.
