A man has been arrested after attempted pickpocketing was reported to officers.
Herts Police PCSOs had been on patrol in South Oxhey on Tuesday (August 11), speaking to shopkeepers about town centre safety, when a member of the public approached them.
He reported that an attempt had just been made to steal his wallet from his back pocket.
After getting a description, the PCSOs searched the area and subsequently stopped and detained a man before neighbourhood policing team colleagues arrived to make an arrest.

It turned out that officers in Watford investigating a separate theft offence in the town were also searching for a suspect who matched the same description.
A 22-year-old man from Wembley was arrested on suspicion of theft from a person, common assault, ABH, and possession of a Class B drug.
A Herts Police spokesperson said: “This is a great example of how high-visibility patrols, proactive crime prevention work and quick action following information from the public can lead directly to an arrest and help keep our communities safe.”
