A Watford man has been ordered to pay £2,492 and banned from driving over 13 fake RAC fault reports.
Ahmed Yussuf, 38, was sentenced at Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court on August 3 for using a false instrument with intent that it be accepted as genuine under the Forgery and Counterfeiting Act 1981.
The Rose Gardens resident was ordered to pay the sum in costs by the end of October and disqualified from holding or obtaining a driving licence for eight months.
He had admitted all 13 counts at Lavender Hill Magistrates’ Court on May 19.

Each of the charges was for using an RAC fault report which he knew or believed to be false.
He did this on November 27, 2024, with reports dated to November 6, 12, 13, and 22; on December 9, 2024, with reports dated to November 26, two times during November 27, and November 28; as well as December 18, 2024, with reports dated December 2, 10, 11, 12, and 13.
The offence was committed with the intention of inducing the London Borough of Wandsworth to accept the fault report as genuine “and by reason of so accepting it do or not do some act to his own or another person’s prejudice”, according to court documents.
