Three fire engines responded to a blaze in a residential area yesterday evening.
Herts Fire and Rescue Service was called with reports of a fence on fire in The Crescent, Abbots Langley, at around 6.22pm (August 13).
By the time they arrived the fence was well alight and flames had spread to a nearby tree and area of brushland.
Firefighters used jet and hose reel to bring it under control before carrying out cutting away and damping down operations to ensure there was no further risk of it spreading.

The scene was then made safe. There were no reports of any injuries.
It comes as the county’s fire service warns of increased risk of fire due to ongoing heatwave conditions and drought.
Members of the public are encouraged to be careful with potential causes of fire including cigarettes, BBQs, and glass bottles.
