A Watford barber has said goodbye to the town as it closes down after almost 50 years.

Clipso Watford confirmed today (October 7) that it has made the “difficult decision” to shut its Queens Road location.

The business will continue to operate at its Bridge Street, Hemel Hempstead, branch.

A statement shared on social media said: “As we now come to the end of this very special chapter, we want to say a huge thank you to every single one of our clients who has supported Clipso Watford over the years.

“From those who have been with us since the early days, to those who have only recently walked through our doors — thank you for your loyalty, your custom, your conversations, your laughs and for trusting us with your hair.

“We have shared countless memories together, and we will always be incredibly grateful.”

The heartfelt message described how Clipso began when it was founded by 26-year-old Terry Calvert on September 1, 1978, and has continued his legacy since his death in 2011.
