Watford returned to their London Colney training facility this week as they started preparations for their pre-season matches, which start on July 24.

Not all the players were present and accounted for however, with Austrian international Daniel Bachmann and Swedish international Ken Sema taking a break after their respective nations were knocked out of Euro 2020.

Both will be expected to begin training again soon, along with Cucho Hernandez, who is in Watford's plans for the upcoming season.

A couple of the Hornets' new signings have been speaking since the return of training, with Emmanuel Dennis talking about how well he is adapting and Kwadwo Baah hoping to learn from Troy Deeney.

Watford FC Women's forward Adekite Fatuga-Dada also gave an interview this week, which can be heard on the Wobcast episode four.

Elsewhere Ignacio Pussetto's loan move to Udinese was extended by an extra year.

His transfer fee was one of a number of interesting points to be taken from the club's financial report for the 2019/20 season, which also showed how much they had been affected by Covid-19 and relegation.

A positive piece of financial news came in the form of a small fee that they will gain from former youth player Jadon Sancho moving from Borussia Dortmund to Manchester United.

Goalkeeper Ben Foster urged Will Hughes to stay at the club amid interest in the midfielder from Aston Villa, while three former Watford men Paul Robinson, Marco Silva and Tommie Hoban all claimed new roles elsewhere.
