Thousands of pounds were raised from a “buzzing” boxing event held at Pryzm.

Fight Night was held by Britannia Gym, based in Hemel Hempstead, for its members to showcase their talents.  

On Saturday, April 1, from 4pm to 9pm, 17 fights took place in front of nearly 400 people in the Watford club.

The gym’s co-owner Nikki Smith said: “It was a buzzing crowd, and the atmosphere was really fun.

“The DJ was fantastic and really got the crowd going.”

A total of ten clubs took part in the event that raised more than £3,200 for The UK Sepsis Trust and Alzheimer’s Research UK.

Ms Smith said a “fabulous performance” was put on in the two title fights, the World Kickboxing Organisation (WKO) southern area middle weight and the WKO southern area heavy fight.

The gym is a community club that was set up 20 years ago by Nick Morrish and has around 70 members.  

The next Fight Night is planned for November.
